Medical Programs
The medical programs being carried out by the Malawi Project are in the forefront and were the first of the many programs that have been put into place to assist the people of Malawi. The medical outreach program started in the early 1990s as members of what would become the Malawi Project started sending small boxes of medical supplies to various medical facilities in the central region of the country. Each time these people traveled to Malawi their suitcases were also filled with medicines and supplies for the people. By the late 1990s it was recognized this small amount of help was not nearly enough and the Malawi Project was formed. Within two years trailers of supplies started crossing the ocean on ships destined for a number of Malawi medical facilities and hospitals. This program has grown many times over, and the impact of its efforts are now being felt throughout this tiny nation.
