This woman prepares to give birth in a rural hospital in Malawi. She is responsible for bringing the garbage bag that she lays on to give birth. Beleive it or not, this is one of the better run hospitals in Malawi.

I'll doubt that I can ever forget this day. As bad as it was, I was thinking how fortunate she was.
One can never forget Dzoole Hospital and that day we stepped into the delivery room and saw this woman laying on a black garbage bag waiting to deliver her new baby. What mother anywhere in the world would welcome such a beautiful event as the delivery of her new baby boy or girl whle laying on an old, black garbage bag? Why the bag? Because they do not have the medical supplies needed or the sterilization equipment to clean up the area after the birth process. How long with the world sit back and let this kind of suffering and injustice continue?
