City - Zomba
Zomba was the original capital of Nyasaland, a British colony until 1964 when the nation gained its independence, and became the nation of Malawi. The capital remained in Zomba until 1975 when it was moved to the city of Lilongwe by President Hastings Kamuzu Banda.
