Four Million Dollar Value in a Single Shipment

Near the end of 2008 the final details were worked out for the shipment of medicine to Malawi with a wholesale value of over $4 million dollars. The shipment includes medicine from Spain, Germany and Italy and will be assigned to the Dzidaure Community Development Agency in Dedza, Malawi. The Dzidaure group is overseeing a major development project south the capital of Lilongwe in an exceptionally poor area of Malawi and is setting up programs that will help to create self sufficiency among the people. The component will also include medical assistance, educational support and training in new methods of agriculture.

Shipments normally take approximately 3 to 4 months to reach Malawi so the urgently needed medicines are expected to arrive in Malawi sometime between March and April 2009. It is estimated this shipment will treat 75,000 people.

This shipment brings the total of medicine alone (not including trailers of agricultural and other needed medical supplies and equipment), to approximately $28 million dollars.

"Who would have imagined the Project could reach this size and these proportions when it started in 2000? It can only be the result of doing something God wants done and Him bringing the resources and people to the table,"
concludes Jim Dillinger a church elder, minister and member of the Board of Directors of the Malawi Project. "Already our board is looking beyond Malawi to our next nation of outreach. Who knows just how far this Project will reach?"
