In the medical field in Malawi, there are few people, if any, who fully understand how desperate things become when there is an insufficient supply of needed medicines and medical supplies. Everything from an infected finger to a life-altering illness is harder to treat when there is insufficient equipment, supplies, or trained personnel.
In the attached picture nurses excitedly go through incoming supplies donated to their facility. Especially of interest are the baby packs for expectant mothers. The items in this packet are required by the hospital, to be brought at the time of delivery by each pregnant person when they come to give birth. Many village people have few funds and even less access to these supplies, yet they can be life-saving for the expectant mother and especially the newborn.
