In recent decades, he has been walking on foot when going out to minister. He spent nights far away from home while traveling to destinations, and he reports, “Mostly I attend church meetings, conduct baptisms, officiate weddings and preach during funeral ceremonies for the church members.” These are tasks he must not to miss because of the lack of transportation, and yet walking is often the only way to reach his destination.
With the aid of the Malawi Project and Compassionate Resource Warehouse, a total of thirty-six preachers and teachers each recently received a bicycle. One of these preachers who received the bicycle during a ceremony at Namikango Mission was Elias Paul. After the receipt of the bicycle he seemed to run out of words. He could only say, “God bless those who donated this bicycle to me and my friends. Mobility won’t be a problem now, thank you so much.”
