180,000 Tracts Prepared for Departure

180,000 Tracts Prepared for Departure to Malawi
Indianapolis, Indiana … With the departure of the next shipment of supplies to Malawi a total of 180,000 tracts will be included on the shipment. These tracts were written by John Thiesen and translated into two languages for Malawi. This will bring to 400,000 the total number of tracts the Project has shipped to Malawi this past year working with the Regency Church of Christ in Mobile, Alabama. This is in addition to the nearly 500,00 tracts and books written by Richard Stephens and sent to Malawi during the past 8 years.

The Regency church has been working in Malawi for 40 years and has sent over 4 million tracts to the country during that time. The impact of the tract ministry can be seen in the words of Leroy McGaughy, one of the elders at the Regency church, “When we began the approximate 900 native preachers were converting about 3,000 per year. After the tracts the conversions went to 6,000-8,000 range…”

Estimates indicate in the developing world every piece of literature is read by 10 people.
